Description:

The Rifugio Chiavenna is located at Alpe Angeloga to reach it there are various routes, today we present the one from Fraciscio.

First of all we must follow the spluga state road, once we reach campodolcino where the church is located we must turn right and follow a road that goes up towards Fraciscio.

Fraciscio is a small village famous for having given birth to Don Guanella.

After entering the village we must follow the signs for the cemetery and from there continue with our car until we find a convenient parking near a small chapel,if we want it is possible to park in the cemetery area, where there is a large parking area that is only 300m from what we had previously indicated.

At the beginning the path is not demanding we climb along a road that runs along the river that descends from Alpe angeloga.

After about 30 minutes begins the most challenging stretch, the path narrows and begins to climb quickly with many hairpin bends, in this stretch we are out of the vegetation exposed completely to the sun.

After three quarters of an hour, the path flattens and the greater part of the difference in height has been completed,we follow a small narrow but spectacular path that goes up between a waterfall and small "fountains" of water that descend from the rock.

Finally after a last uphill part where the path is a sort of natural staircase,we arrive at Alpe Angeloga, after nenache 400 m we arrive at the Refuge and the village of the alpe.
